This piece is a memorial work honoring loved ones who have passed and is inspired by the belief that cardinals can be a sign that someone we love is visiting us. For me, that belief became especially meaningful after losing my second mother. One of the first things I saw following her passing was a cardinal, similar to the one depicted here. That moment stayed with me and became a symbol of comfort, a small reminder that love can remain present even when someone is no longer physically with us.
